Architect, Director & Chairman

As a practicing Architect for over 35 years, Patrick has consulted extensively to government, statutory agencies, institutions and the private sector providing Architectural services, expert advice, and technical knowledge.

As a co-founder of OYOB, Patrick brings a wealth of experience from his architectural practice, including his time as a director at a mid-sized Melbourne-based firm before starting his own practice in 1994. However, it was his early years with the renowned design practice of Edmund and Corrigan that truly shaped his perspective on how architecture can influence and improve people’s lives.

Patrick’s industry experience and knowledge has guided OYOB through its short journey and established it as a robust, respected, profitable and well-regarded design-oriented property development company.

As a director of the OYOB Property Group, Patrick has oversight responsibilities for projects and project developments. As chairman of the group, Patrick is instrumental in guiding the development of the practice, culture and governance.

CEO & Director

Aynkaran’s extensive corporate and financial experience has been invaluable in building OYOB into the robust business it has become. Having qualified in the United Kingdom, he started his professional career as a management accountant in London before returning to Melbourne to take up the position of Financial Controller with a subsidiary of the National Australian Bank. Stints at American Express and Carlson Wagonlit Travel, both global leaders in the corporate travel industry, followed, in the senior roles of Head of Travel Finance and Director of Finance for Australia and New Zealand.

After some 25 years building his career in the international corporate world, Aynkaran felt that the time was right to turn his talents to private companies and business ownership. This coincided with the formation of OYOB in 2012, an opportunity too good to pass up – for both parties. Starting as OYOB’s financial controller, Aynkaran focused his energies on building the company’s foundations on a solid grounding of best-practice financial and corporate governance.

He then took on the role of CFO, where his natural leadership and affinity for management came to the fore. In 2019, Aynkaran moved into the CEO’s chair, and today he helms a business managing a property and development portfolio valued at over $250 million.

He continues to work closely with Patrick and Dhil to ensure that the dedicated and passionate staff at OYOB, our valued investment community, and the diverse portfolio of work are all coordinated toward the common goal of value creation.

Head of Acquisition & Innovation

Dhilharan is committed to creating sustainable change through collaborations and partnerships. He believes that by engaging multiple stakeholders, such as other small to medium businesses, projects have the capacity for more meaningful impact within communities. He has directed numerous developments over 25 – plus years, including many of OYOB’s most notable and successful projects.

Dhilharan commenced his professional career with St George Bank following graduation. However, the free spirited and innovative thinker knew from the onset that he was never going to be an accountant. Thus, he started reading up and absorbing information regarding property and property development. Immediately after the financial recession of 1991 and knowing that there was value in property after a recession, Dhilharan commenced his foray into property development soon after.

After a few successful projects, Dhilharan was introduced to Patrick in 1998 and began their collaboration as a developer and consultant architect on their first residential project. After working together successfully for 10 years , the seeds of a new Property Development and Management company took form.

Today, Dhilharan is the ‘big picture’ property strategist at OYOB. His innovative thinking is complementary and, a counterpoint to Patrick’s technical knowledge and methodical approach to problem solving. Dhilharan is the driving force behind the company’s growth and innovation, formulating many creative strategies in the areas of symbiotic responsibility and shared values in property investments.
