2018 OYOB Start Of Year Update

It was great to see our community come together again for OYOB’s first half-yearly update of 2018.

This event, we met at Beer Deluxe at Federation Square and it didn’t disappoint. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the food, drinks and friendly service provided at the venue. A big thumbs up from OYOB and we’ll certainly be returning soon.

Project Updates

The main talking point of the night was undoubtedly the announcement of the Kororoit PSP gazettal on the 1 February 2018, which marks the start of suburban development in Deanside, formerly known as Plumpton. Deanside is a brand new Victorian suburb, 30km west of Melbourne’s CBD and together with Fraser Rise, released at the same time, will eventually be home to 20,000 new dwellings, projected to be built over the next 10 years. This is great news for our Caroline Waters and Rivers Run projects and our community has a lot to look forward to over the next few years. We also gave an update on the projects at Mernda, with titles for Stages 4 and the Childcare Centre on track to be issued in the next few months. For those that weren’t able to make it and would like to know what is happening, please feel free to get in touch with Mary or Michael.

A Surprise for Attendees

This year, OYOB decided to share our Doing Good Program with our community and to let them know the charities and the causes that we are supporting.

Headspace is a nation-wide youth mental health foundation dedicated to improving the wellbeing of young Australians. OYOB is supporting Michelle Kleinert, Deputy Mayor of Manningham (Heide Ward) in her vision to raise $54,000 to set up a new local center attached to the in Doncaster. In conjunction with Doing Good Rewards, a new online rewards platform, OYOB has organised a ‘pay it forward’ program, starting with a $52 donation on behalf of each attendee to gift them a Doing Good Rewards membership.

To take part in this initiative and support Headspace please register online at www.doinggoodrewards.com or speak to your OYOB representative.

OYOB wants to help the foundation set up their next empowerment centre to give these communities more equal opportunities to excel in life. Stay tuned for updates on initiatives to support this cause.

It looks like 2018 is going to be a very successful year for the OYOB community and we look forward to continue creating great property returns and expanding how our organisation can make a positive impact to society.

If you missed the event and would like to get an update on our projects or causes or to find out how you can get involved with OYOB, please call our office on 1800 00 6962 to speak to Mary.
